An Outline of Irish Literature in Texts - Liliana Sikorska - książka wyd. 2011
Opis
The Anthology of Irish Literature, edited by Professor Liliana Sikorska, is a pioneering and much-needed publication in Poland. This important book, collecting the most interesting texts in English-language Irish literature, is eagerly awaited not only by the numerous students of English and modern languages, to whom it is primarily addressed, but also by a growing number of readers interested in Irish literature and culture. Recent years have seen a revival of interest in Irish literature in Poland. The "Cultural Studies" sections, located for each period, expand the scope of source materials to include writings that, in the Anglo-Saxon tradition, are treated on an equal footing with literary fiction. The equal treatment of literary and cultural studies texts also reflects the tendency in contemporary humanities to blur the lines between fiction and other discourses rooted directly in the socio-cultural reality of a given area or region.
