The Proof Reader / Śledź zmiany is an artist’s book and publication created by Daniel Malone in connection with his project exhibited at Galeria Foksal in Warsaw in early 2013. The work reflects Malone’s engagement with the early history of the gallery (its activity from the mid-1960s to early 1970s) and re-interprets archival texts created by the gallery during its foundational years. Rather than presenting nostalgic documentation, Malone uses corrected English translations of the original Polish texts from the first publications of Galeria Foksal and re-assembles them into a new book form. The project explores concepts of reading, proofing, and tracking differences as a way of engaging with historical avant-garde practices and their relevance today.⋅
